IDEO ââ¬â HUMAN CENTRED SERVICE DESIGN A CASE ANALYSIS SUBMITTED BY JANHVI AGARWAL The subject of discussion in this case is how IDEO implemented its design thinking process to effectively solve the service quality upgradation queries and ââ¬Ëcustomer painsââ¬â¢ at CINEPLANET, the market leader in the movie screenersââ¬â¢ industry in Peru. The following questions give a proper direction to the case analysis in terms of the content and understanding of the case. What is design thinking? What are the three phases of design thinking? (1) Exploratory (inspiration and research): Field research to identify the customerââ¬â¢s unmet needs. (2) Concepting (ideation): How might we design solutions that address these challenges? (3) Prototyping (test): Making ideas tangible and re-engaging with customers. What are the customerââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"painsâ⬠? Do these solutions alleviate the pains? Design thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation that draws from the designer s toolkit to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success. This is an amalgamation of ideas at IDEO from people in different fields of expertise like designers, technologists, marketers and financial experts to develop a concept or idea that would put people at the forefront of every design that they come out with.
